History:
Most people when you talk to them about dragons they'll have the image of a creature the size of a mountain, and destroying cities, this aren't true, at least not completely true, there are actually many different kinds of dragons.
The first and weakest type are the Flying Dragons, which are the ones that have low intelligence, smaller in size, and can be captured and used by humans in battles, their magic resistance is the lowest among Dragons, and can't cast magics themselves, they are the most common dragons that are seen by humans.
The second type are Dragon Soldiers, which are dragons that are in humanoid shape, they're the smallest kind of dragons, can't fly(usually), but they're fast, and attack in groups and formations, making them more deadly than the Flying Dragons, they have a higher resistance against magic, but still not too high.
The third and final type is the one that'll be used here, they're the most powerful, intelligent, and huge Dragons, they have amazing strength, in average, stronger than all creatures that's their size(which is... not much), their scales and skin are so tough they can block most physical projectile(but not completely), their magic defense protect them from most magics humans can use; and they have the ability to use "Breath" to attack, which is usually a blast of energy of different element, it has great range, intensive power, and takes short amount of time to charge up, but they can't use it too often, as it's a part of their life energy that they're using to attack; but like their advantage, their disadvantage is just as easily to be seen, with their massive size, their speed drops greatly, even with their own abilities helping them, they're still slower than most creatures; as they have the strongest blood, they take the most damage against Dragon Killing weapons, and their abilities drop the most when fighting Dragon Slayers; their scale also have one weak point which is a single scale that's reversed from the rest, this part is very weak against physical attacks, but most dragons will try to protect it as best as they could.
The Dragons are among the strongest species, but because of that, the other creatures jointed up to fight the dragons in the past, the dragons were winning until the other beings created dragon slaying weapons, and then dragon slayers, then the advantages shifted, with the dragons slaughtered until a small handful, but they manage to transform and hide from the enemies; as time passes, dragon slaying weapons and their formula are forgotten, and dragon slayers aren't needed, that's when the dragons can survive on their own without fear of attacks.
When Dragons attacks cities and villages, it's actually only the younger ones, as dragons need to build their nests, they attack to get the supplies they need, as young dragons are greedy and aggressive, they attack frequently, which gives people the image of dragons as they are now.
Elder Dragons usually stay at their nest, leading the creatures around against the adventurers that come for treasures and glory, and give advices to those that wishes it, for a price.
The most powerful dragons of their element becomes Dragon Lords, they lead the other dragons in battle, settle problems between them, and deal with problems that other dragons can't do.
